Julian Schnabel. Art Edition No. 1–35 ‘Overpainted cover’ (German, French, English) (AP)

This Art edition of TASCHEN’s oversize limited-edition monograph was created in close collaboration with Julian Schnabel who individually overpainted each cover of the 35 copies by hand, using his own review of his work as a ground for new artistic explorations. Each copy is numbered (No. 1–35) and signed by the artist.

Julian Schnabel makes art out of life. He uses everyday materials in paintings that carry a rich sense of history, he directs movies that paint portraits of artists and other heroes, and he builds his own dream of a Venetian palace in New York.
